A work as rich and profound as any other in Allan King's storied career, Dying at Grace portrays the final moments of its five very different subjects at Toronto's Grace Hospital with all the respect, sensitivity and awe they deserve.
— Jason Anderson
Allan King reclaims the documentary in its purest most visceral form for this humbling and privileged look at death and the dying that reminds us of the power of cinéma-vérité, and gives us hope to face our most profound fears.
— Michelle Marion
A film of immense beauty and profound respect for the dignity of the human soul, Dying at Grace presents an unflinching close-up look at something most of us do not wish to face. Allan King shares with us the amazing access he was granted by his subjects to that most private of moments– that of their own death. It is a privilege not given or taken lightly.
— Bill Evans
Shining a bright light where no one wants one, Dying at Grace is a devastating, unflinching work about suffering and compassion. Director Allan King shows us the indignities of dying in a film suffused with dignity
