La Face cachée de la lune

Panel Statements:

For the first time in his sideline but still significant career as a film director, Robert Lepage gives himself the chance to display his wit and imagination behind and in front of the camera simultaneously. The funny yet curiously moving story of two brothers struggling to assess their connections to each other and to the planet in general, La Face cachée de la lune is an idiosyncratic and visually dazzling exploration of new frontiers.
Jason Anderson

Similar to the otherworldly obsessions of his lead character, Lepage's film has us floating through the cosmos with zero gravity in this thoughtful film with its visual poetry, dancing wit and languid mood.
Michelle Marion

Robert Lepage explores the infinite with the adaptation of his own play to the screen. La Face cachée de la lune has magnificent visuals, creative directing, pertinent dialogue and a great deal of lyricism. As a filmmaker he has managed to create a world in which childhood memories and the conquest of space mingle. Moving.
