David Weaver graduated from the University of Toronto, where he received the Norman Jewison Fellowship for Film Studies, and Columbia University¹s renowned Graduate Film Program. He has directed several short films, including the award-winning Moon Palace.
Weaver made his debut as a feature filmmaker with Century Hotel, which premiered at the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival. Next Weaver directed Siblings (TIFF 2004). His spec feature script, Superhero, has been optioned by producer Hunt Lowry at Warner Bros, and he has most recently completed a segment of the anthology film, Toronto Stories. Weaver frequently reviews books on cinema for the Globe & Mail and other periodicals.
