Norman Wilner is a lifelong Torontonian. He became the senior film writer for NOW magazine in early 2008. Previously, he had reviewed films for Metro newspapers across Canada, and written the DVD column for the Toronto Star. His byline has appeared in Cinema Scope, Montage, Marquee and the Hollywood Reporter. He has also made appearances as a critic and commentator on several radio and television programmes. As a member of FIPRESCI, the international film critics’ organization, he has served on festival juries in Toronto, Montreal, London, Vienna and Palm Springs. In 2008, he was elected secretary and vice-president of the Toronto Film Critics Association. He lives in Kensington Market, just a short walk from any of fourteen coffee shops.
