Panel Statement
With Out in that Deep Blue Sea, Kazik Radwanski confirms and extends the promise of his previous Canada’s Top Ten selection, Princess Margaret Blvd. Radwanski’s style, which is clearly indebted to certain key figures of contemporary world cinema, eschews conventional left-to-right storytelling, but not at the expense of drama. This spiritual-death-of-a-salesman story is all the more engrossing for being parceled out in tense, suggestive fragments.
